Simply owning the PDF isn’t enough. You must learn how to read Kawasaki’s language. Kawasaki’s Publisher: Helms Inc

  • Use the "Troubleshooting" Section: Don't just replace parts. If your bike won't start, go to Chapter 16. Follow the flow chart (Yes/No). It saves you from buying a new starter relay when the problem is the sidestand switch.
  • Bolt Grades: The manual tells you the tensile strength (4.8, 8.8, 10.9). Never replace a 10.9 bolt (engine mounts) with a hardware-store 4.8. It will shear.
  • The Z900RS has an automatic spring-loaded tensioner. If you ever remove it, you must follow the manual’s “reset procedure” to wind back the ratchet spring. If you don’t, you will install a locked tensioner and snap your cam chain.
