At its core, Ek Chahat (translated as "One Desire") is deceptively simple. The narrative follows Aarav (played by the brooding Vihaan Malhotra) and Zara (played by the ethereal Anaya Sharma).

Aarav is a reclusive painter living in the rainy, gothic hills of Coorg. Haunted by a traumatic past, he has exiled himself from the world, painting only the same mysterious woman over and over. Zara, a feisty investigative journalist from Mumbai, arrives in town to uncover the story behind a series of unsolved disappearances. When she knocks on Aarav’s door, she expects a hermit.
