Most Ubisoft Connect versions of games (especially Far Cry 5 and Watch Dogs: Legion) use file verification. If you try to install a mod that changes a .dll or .exe, Connect will automatically "repair" the file, destroying your mod. Bypassing the launcher is often required for advanced modding.
