A keycode reset does a factory reset. You will lose:

If you have the ZKAccess or ZKTeco Time Attendance software installed on your PC (and the device is connected via network), you can often reset the device to factory defaults directly from the software interface. This wipes the admin password but keeps the user logs (depending on the model), allowing you to reconfigure the device.
