Zkbio Vms Plugin
The plugin operates via a "Server-Client" relay architecture:
Scenario: An employee uses their fingerprint to open a secure door, but three strangers slip in behind them. Standard system: Only one access log shows. With Plugin: The video playback shows the employee holding the door open for others. Security can then discipline the employee or investigate the strangers. zkbio vms plugin
Biometric readers provide high-assurance identity verification but lack video context. VMS platforms offer rich video forensic capabilities but do not natively interpret biometric events. Integrating the two enables security operators to verify access attempts with corresponding video footage. ZKBioSecurity, a widely used access control platform, exposes event-driven webhooks and SDK APIs. This paper describes a lightweight plugin architecture that links ZKBioSecurity to a VMS (e.g., Milestone XProtect) without requiring hardware modifications. Protocol Support: The SDK often supports HTTP RESTful
For developers requiring custom integrations (e.g., integrating VMS into a building management system), ZKTeco provides the ZKBio VMS SDK. The convergence of physical access control systems (PACS)
The convergence of physical access control systems (PACS) and video management systems (VMS) is essential for modern security operations. This paper presents the design and implementation of a plugin that bridges ZKTeco’s ZKBioSecurity platform with a third-party VMS. The plugin captures biometric authentication events (fingerprint, face, or palm) and triggers corresponding video actions — recording, bookmarking, or PTZ preset activation. We evaluate latency, reliability, and security of the REST API-based integration. Results show sub-200ms event-to-video correlation, suitable for forensic-ready security environments.
