Yeşilçam arşivlerinde birden fazla Emel vardır: Emel Sayın (şarkıcı ve oyuncu), Emel Tümer (dublaj sanatçısı), Emel Özdemir (kısa süreli oyunculuk). Ama asıl merak edilen, yalnızca birkaç filmde görünen, röportaj vermeyen, kamera arkasında kalmayı seçen — ya da seçmeye zorlanan — kadınlardır.

O dönemde “paylaşılmamak” iki anlama geliyordu:

İşte bu kadınlardan biri, efsanevi bir “Emel” — soyadı kayıtlarda bile silinmiş. Onun hikâyesi tam olarak paylaşılmayan kadın tanımıdır.
