Cheap software uses linear interpolation. Better software (like Revo Scan 5) uses curvature-based hole filling. For a Voron part (e.g., the AB drive mount), linear filling ruins the bearing seats. Curvature-based filling preserves the geometry. This is a massive difference in the 0.109mm range. woron scan 109 software better
Most 109 scanners ship with a factory calibration. But temperature changes affect accuracy. Use a certified step gauge block (50mm length). Scan it. If your software reports 50.015mm, apply a software correction factor. Revo Scan has a hidden "Offset Correction" menu (Settings > Advanced > Scale Factor).
If you want your current software to perform better right now, do this:
To determine which software is better, we tested three major platforms using the same 0.109mm accuracy scanner.
The 109 specification is only achieved in High Accuracy mode. Fast mode drops to roughly 0.2mm. For Voron parts (where 0.1mm clearance matters), always use slow, high-resolution scanning. The software will take longer to process, but the mesh will be watertight. Summary
