Vas6154 Clone
The short answer: surprisingly well, but with caveats.
Most modern VAS6154 clones can successfully: vas6154 clone
For routine diagnostics on pre-2020 vehicles, a good clone often feels indistinguishable from the genuine unit. You can read fault codes, perform output tests, guide adaptations, and even flash firmware. The short answer: surprisingly well, but with caveats
Clones often have similar physical appearance but lower-quality components. For routine diagnostics on pre-2020 vehicles, a good
VCDS (Vag-Com) is great, but for complex control units (like the 5F Infotainment or ZF transmissions), ODIS via a VAS6154 clone is significantly faster. Burst-mode CAN and DoIP allow for real-time data logging that cheap cables choke on.
From the VW Golf MK8, Audi A6/A8 (2018+), and ID series EVs, cars require DoIP (Diagnostics over IP). Cheaper clones (VCDS or K+CAN) cannot do DoIP. A good VAS6154 clone can physically handle this protocol, letting you diagnose the newest VAG EVs and MQB-EVO platform cars.
