Abstract In recent years, the proliferation of institutional content filters in K-12 educational environments has given rise to a shadow ecosystem of proxy-hosted browser games known as "unblocked games." Search queries such as "unblocked games geometry dash better" highlight a specific user behavior: the desire to access premium, high-fidelity gaming experiences while circumventing network restrictions, coupled with the demand for optimized or modified versions of these games. This paper examines the technical infrastructure of unblocked game hosting, the psychological drivers of institutional circumvention among students, the technical degradation (and occasional optimization) of cloned games, and the inherent cybersecurity and legal risks. By analyzing the specific case of Geometry Dash, this paper illustrates the friction between institutional network policies and student digital autonomy.
