Ramsay edits time as a liquid continuum, sliding from the sticky, vibrant chaos of a Spanish tomato festival to the sterile, dark hallway of Eva’s current home. This fluid chronology refuses to explain Kevin; it only explains Eva’s guilt. We never see the school massacre directly; we see Eva’s reaction to it—a collapse under a deafening, high-pitched whine.
