Little is known about “Raven” — possibly a stage name or a character. If past TadpolexStudio projects are any guide, Raven may represent a dark foil to Mae’s lighter persona. The tadpole, an organism that is simultaneously fish and frog, serves as the central metaphor for the project’s inquiry into liminality. Each artist brings a partially formed identity—McKenzie’s precise geometry, Mae’s fluid sound, Raven’s embodied storytelling—yet none is complete without the others. The work visualizes this by juxtaposing static, diagrammatic forms with fluid, mutable sound and kinetic, embodied gestures, producing a triadic metamorphosis that evolves throughout the installation.
