Verdict: v1.08 is the stability patch. There is no reason to play v1.07. the wind would sometimes stop permanently

In v1.07, the wind would sometimes stop permanently, leaving you dead in the water without explanation. v1.08 fixes the wind director logic. You will still have to row against the wind occasionally, but the game no longer soft-locks your progress.
