Qprey 2 House Arrest Fixed

To the developer of Qprey 2, “fixed” means success. The software now works as intended.

To the game’s developer or anti-cheat team, “fixed” is a declaration of war. It means their current defense is obsolete. They will now analyze Qprey 2’s behavior to develop a new detection method, leading to “house arrest 2.0.”

To the end user considering downloading Qprey 2, “fixed” is a red flag. If a cheat tool explicitly advertises that it bypasses “house arrest,” it confirms that the game actively enforces that penalty. Using the tool is a gamble: the fix may work for days, hours, or only until the next server-side patch.

Qprey has established a "House Arrest Pardon" hotline. If your serial number is from the early batch (SN: QP2-0422 to QP2-0723), you may need a remote server-side pardon. qprey 2 house arrest fixed

For players on Patch 1.0.3.2+ who are still stuck, or for those playing a cracked/legacy version before the hotfix, here is the verified manual method to break out of the House Arrest sequence without losing your reputation.

If the manual fix fails (e.g., the red light does not appear due to a hard lock), you can edit the save file. Always back up your saves first.

Steps:

Before we discuss the fix, it is crucial to understand the problem. The Qprey 2 is a semi-autonomous mobile security drone designed to patrol indoor environments. It uses a combination of LIDAR, visual SLAM, and geofencing software.

The "House Arrest" error first appeared after the v4.0.32 software update. Users reported that their drones would suddenly refuse to leave a virtual "safe zone" (usually defined as a 2-meter radius around the charging base). The drone would spin in place, flash a yellow indicator, and display the message: "System restricted

"System restricted. Boundaries locked. House arrest active."

Essentially, the drone believed it was violating a no-fly zone or a high-security perimeter, even when it was in the middle of an open living room. The device was grounded—trapped by its own firmware.

However, the game faced several delays and changes in its development. Despite its promising start, updates on Prey 2 were sparse and often indicated significant development issues. Eventually, in 2014, Bethesda announced that they were "suspending" development on Prey 2, which was essentially a euphemism for the game's cancellation.

Important: The official patch prevents the bug from happening on new playthroughs. However, if you already have a save file inside the broken House Arrest sequence, the patch alone may not fix it. You either need to reload a save from before entering the arrest, or use the manual fix below.

While the qprey 2 house arrest fixed tag is largely accurate as of Patch 1.0.3.2, users report two minor lingering issues:
