Some users believe mounting the original game ISO (created from their own CD) works. It does not. SafeDisc has "weak sectors" that standard ISO ripping tools cannot copy perfectly. Even mounted via Daemon Tools, Project IGI 1.3 will detect the emulation and crash. You still need the crack. A No CD crack is a modified version
In 2015, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 and Windows 11 no longer support SafeDisc. The driver (secdrv.sys) is a security vulnerability (it allows ring-0 kernel access). Consequently, if you insert your original Project IGI CD into a modern PC, Windows will block the game from running entirely.
Result? The only way to play your original, paid-for copy of Project IGI on a modern computer is to use the "No CD Crack Patched" version.
