A product key for SmartAlbums 2 is a unique alphanumeric string designed to unlock the full version of the application. Without it, the software operates in a "Trial Mode" (usually 30 days) with watermarked exports or limited page counts.
The SmartAlbums 2 product key is specifically tied to the perpetual license model. When Pixellu sold version 2, they offered a "pay once, own forever" deal. This means that if you have a legitimate product key, you do not need to pay monthly fees to use the software.
Important distinction: A product key for SmartAlbums 2 will not work for SmartAlbums 3, SmartAlbums 2024, or the Cloud version. Pixellu treats each major version as a separate product line.
