Here is the exact process to resolve the error. These steps assume you already have the AviTab plugin installed in your X-Plane/Resources/plugins/ folder. (If not, download it from the official GitHub or X-Plane.org first).

A final "gotcha" that confuses many users: Even after enabling AviTab in the ISCS, the physical tablet in the 3D cockpit will remain black until you turn on Aircraft Electrical Power.
