You might be asking: If there is Nougat, can I get Oreo? Unfortunately, the XDA development for the Opposite F3 has stagnated. Due to the MediaTek MT6753’s outdated kernel (3.18.x), no developer has successfully booted Android 8.1 or 9.0 with full hardware acceleration.

The consensus: Nougat is the final stop for the Opposite F3. Enjoy LineageOS 14.1, but do not hold your breath for Android Pie.

One of the most valuable threads on XDA is the “PSA: Fake Opposite F3 Nougat Updaters” sticky. Scammers create APK files claiming they are “Official Opposite Update Agents.” These are malware.

XDA Rule #1: Never download an update from a random website. If it isn’t in the official XDA F3 forum or on the developer’s GitHub, it is a virus.
