At 2:04, a freeze-frame shows a hand dropping a familiar silver bracelet. This belongs to Zara (played by Elena Miro), a fan-favorite from Amazon Warriors: Ghost Legion. It appears Winter is not afraid to kill off legacy characters to raise the stakes.

In a behind-the-scenes video uploaded to Amazon’s YouTube channel, Winter explains:
"Most ‘snow’ films are shot on soundstages with fake snow. For ‘Winter’s Edge,’ I wanted the actors to suffer—really suffer. The ColdCam is a heated, nitrogen-shielded RED camera that operates in negative 30 degrees. We shot actors actually fighting in a blizzard. That authenticity cannot be faked."
This new approach has already drawn comparisons to The Revenant (2015). Early test screeners (anonymous posts on Reddit’s r/actioncinema) claim that the weather itself becomes the primary antagonist.
