Symptom: File system check failed after copying.
Solution: Run fsck bootflash: on the switch before copying the new image. Corrupt sectors can cause silent .bin corruption. nxos.9.3.8.bin download
No valid contract? If you are a home lab user, look into Cisco’s "Cisco Modeling Labs" (CML) or DevNet Sandbox, which provide legal access to images, though typically not the .bin file for physical switches. For production, you must have a support contract.
Symptom: ERROR: Image is not compatible with bootflash
Solution: Your switch may be running a different feature set (e.g., "lanbase" vs "full"). Check show version for "image type". You may need a different variant of 9.3.8 (e.g., nxos.9.3.8.bin vs nxos64-cs.9.3.8.bin). Search for the Nexus Operating System:
Once you have the .bin file, transfer it to the switch’s bootflash.
