Open Device Manager → find unknown MTK device (or phone with yellow exclamation). Right-click → Update driver → Browse my computer → point to extracted folder. Click Install anyway if warned. After installation, the phone should be detected as "MediaTek USB Port" (or similar) in Device Manager when connected in preloader mode.
