A: Technically, yes. The Black Edition (with bonus cars like the BMW M3 E46 and Camaro SS) had its own v1.0 build. The executable is different, and mods are less compatible with it.

Upgrade order priority (for any car):
Unique parts (hidden under bridges, etc.) – in 1.0, they spawn randomly after blacklist wins, not fixed locations. Open Documents\NFS Most Wanted\config
Tuning (Junkman parts) – they appear in blacklist marker events. Apply to NOS and Tires first.
This is the crown jewel. In v1.0, the police AI is aggressive but slightly less refined than in v1.3. In early builds, cops would occasionally "rubber band" with impossible acceleration. However, the heat system (from Heat Level 1 to 5) remains identical: starting with Crown Victorias, escalating to undercover Corvettes, and finally the legendary SWAT SUVs that could spike strip you instantly.
