The easy512 supports ON-delay, OFF-delay, Pulse, and Flashing timers.

Example: ON-delay timer

Programming:

  • Simulate (F5) – test without hardware
  • Transfer to device via serial cable (RS232, adapter needed for modern PCs)
  • You need a programming cable: RS232 (DB9) to RJ45 or USB-to-RS232 adapters. The easy512 uses the same pinout as the easy600/700 series.

    Connection steps:

Older easy512 units may have limited features. Firmware updates require:

Note: Firmware updates are rarely needed unless adding RTC or expanded function blocks.

The front panel keypad allows you to create circuit diagrams using function blocks (relays, timers, counters, etc.). Here’s a step-by-step guide: moeller easy512-ac-rc programming manual

  • Wire the Block: Use the arrow keys to connect the contact to a coil or block input.
  • Assign I/O: When you select a contact, map it to I01 (input 1), M01 (internal marker), etc.
  • Save: Press ESC then OK to store the program in EEPROM.
  • Pro Tip: On-device editing is powerful but slow. Always back up your code to a PC via the serial cable if possible.

The easy512 uses a simplified Ladder Logic. You build "rungs" of a ladder.
