  • On X3: Press GLOBAL → PAGE+ → Find "Protect" :
  • Software settings (example with MIDI-OX):
  • Send the file. The X3 screen will show "Receiving Bulk Data..." then "Completed".
  • Verify: The X3 may ask "Write to Internal Memory?" → Press YES/ENTER. If it doesn’t ask, the data was received but not stored – repeat with a longer delay.

    • A proper X3 SysEx file starts with:

    F0 42 30 58 41 ... F7

    File extensions: .syx, .SYX, .lib, .x3b (unofficial). If you get a .mid file containing SysEx, use a tool to extract the raw SysEx data. korg x3 sysex files

    GLOBAL > MIDI > System Exclusive = ENABLE
    Then from computer: receive a full dump (request or manual dump from X3). On X3: Press GLOBAL → PAGE+ → Find "Protect" :
