Abstract This paper examines the "Kalikkari" initiative launched by the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) under the General Education Department of Kerala. The study analyzes the program's objective to transform school classrooms into revenue-generating community hubs during non-instructional hours. By reviewing the policy framework established in 2021–2022 and the implementation strategies adopted in 2023–2024, this paper explores the potential of asset utilization in the public education sector to achieve financial sustainability and community integration.
