Traditional systems are either Push (one person sends work downstream) or Pull (someone requests work from upstream). The magic happens when you combine both.
In a Joint Push-Pull environment, members constantly alternate between offering contributions and asking for help. This creates a dynamic equilibrium where work never piles up on one side and no one is left waiting idly. It’s the difference between a tug-of-war and a rowing crew—both pulling and pushing in a coordinated rhythm toward the same destination. joint push pull interactive free
They used the whiteboard for a collective narrative. Each person added one sentence, but the twist: a sentence could either "push" the plot forward (introducing new conflict) or "pull" it back (introducing restraint, reflection, or setback). Together they built a story about a coastal village adapting to rising tides: an engineer proposing sea walls (push), an elder suggesting migration plans (pull), a child planting resilient gardens (push), a council delaying decisions (pull). The story's rhythm became a map of communal choices. Moments of push sparked invention; moments of pull allowed roots to deepen. The group's shared tale ended not with a single solution but with a layered plan—adaptive, imperfect, humane. In a Joint Push-Pull environment
JPP works on the geometry you have.
What is JointPushPull? While SketchUp has a native "Push/Pull" tool, it is limited: it can only extrude flat surfaces and cannot easily handle curved surfaces or complex volumes without distorting the geometry.
JointPushPull Interactive is a plugin by Fredo6 that allows you to extrude surfaces (even curved ones), taper volumes, and rotate extrusions in real-time. It is an essential tool for architectural modeling and organic design.
