The RC industry is moving away from old LiPo technology toward LiHV (High Voltage) and LiFePO4. A firmware update often revises the cutoff voltages and internal resistance calculation algorithms. If you have ever had a battery puff up during a storage charge, outdated firmware might be the culprit.

Even with careful planning, issues can arise. Here are the most frequent problems during an Htrc T240 Duo Firmware Update and their solutions.

| Problem | Likely Cause | Solution | |---------|--------------|----------| | PC does not detect charger | Bad USB cable or missing driver | Use a known good data cable. Reinstall STM32 drivers. | | Updater tool crashes at 50% | Interrupted power or wrong firmware file | Re-download the file. Ensure AC power is stable. Restart from Step 4. | | Charger screen goes black after update | Incomplete flash | Perform a “recovery flash.” Put charger back in DFU mode and re-upload. | | Error: “Target not found” | Wrong COM port or charger not in DFU | Check Device Manager. Repeat DFU mode procedure. | | New features not appearing | Updated wrong variant (e.g., T240 non-Duo) | Double-check model number. Download correct firmware. |

If all else fails: Contact HTRC support via their official email or join a dedicated RC Facebook group. The community often has beta firmware or recovery scripts.

Inside, you should find:

What it does: This feature utilizes a high shutter speed algorithm specifically designed to freeze motion. It is typically found in the "ANPR" (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) or "Motion Detection" settings within the firmware.

Why it is the most useful feature: The single biggest weakness of standard dashcams is "motion blur" at night. When you are driving at night and another car passes you (or you pass them) with headlights on, a standard camera uses a slow shutter speed to let in light. This results in the license plate appearing as a blurry, unreadable white smear.

The FastShutter firmware update addresses this critical flaw:

A: No. The T240 Duo lacks Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. A physical USB connection is mandatory.

With new firmware installed, adopt these best practices to keep your charger running optimally:

  • If charger behaves abnormally after update:

  • When the HTRC T240 Duo first launched, it supported standard LiPo, LiIon, and LiFe. Later updates added profiles for LiHV (4.35V/cell) and Pb (Lead Acid) cycling modes for field box batteries. Without the update, you physically cannot access these modes.
