Unlike consumer antivirus software, KES 11 is designed for enterprise environments. It stores passwords in an encrypted hash using strong cryptographic algorithms (AES-256). There is no "Forgot Password?" link in the management console.
When you enter the wrong password to change settings or uninstall the product, you see:
"Access denied. The password is incorrect."
If you lose the password set via Kaspersky Security Center (KSC) policy, the local KES 11 agent will reject all override attempts. Here is how to regain control.
If your endpoints are managed via Kaspersky Security Center (KSC) version 11 or higher, the administrator can remotely reset the local password without touching the endpoint.
Steps:
Note: This method works only if the endpoint still has a network connection to the KSC administration server.
If using KSC Web Console:
Applicable when endpoints are locked by a local Kaspersky Endpoint Security policy password that prevents users or local admins from changing protection settings.

If the local settings are protected by an administrative password stored in the product:
A: You did not enable Safe Mode with Command Prompt OR the system has Secure Boot + BitLocker. You must physically disable Secure Boot in BIOS temporarily.
