Copy the .akx or .sav file to a separate folder called "EK_Backups." Save editing can corrupt files permanently if you make invalid entries.

If you use Google Play or Steam Cloud, the cloud may overwrite your edited local file with the old, unedited version. After editing, launch the game, save again, then force a cloud sync.
