Eviews 11 Student Version Lite
Visit eviews.com and navigate to the "Student Version" section. As of the EViews 11 lifecycle (now succeeded by EViews 12 and 13), direct downloads for version 11 Lite may no longer be prominently featured due to software updates. However, they often maintain an archive. You will need a valid serial number from your instructor.

Typical estimation workflow:
Unlike the full Student Version (which may be valid for 12 months), the Lite version often comes with a 6-month license or requires a specific serial number provided by a university bookshop or instructor. It is not freeware; it is low-cost or bundled with a textbook. Visit eviews
As of 2025, EViews 13 is the current commercial release. However, EViews 11 Student Version Lite remains surprisingly relevant for one reason: curriculum inertia. Many professors wrote their lecture slides in 2016 and have not updated their software requirements. If your syllabus says "EViews 11," do not upgrade to EViews 13 Lite unless you confirm compatibility (workfiles are generally backward compatible, but not always forward compatible). You will need a valid serial number from your instructor
That said, if you have a choice, look for EViews 13 Student Version Lite instead. It offers a slightly cleaner interface and better handling of large Unicode datasets (though still with a small observation cap).
