  • To switch modes, find a PDF manual online for “VS890” or the vendor model and scan the configuration barcodes (HID <-> COM, baud rate, suffix/prefix).
  • Test with a different cable, USB port, and computer to rule out host issues.
  • For serial mode, confirm baud/flow/no parity settings in host software.
  • If still failing, request refund/replacement from vendor or replace with a name-brand scanner with clearer support.
