Carrier (Edwards) is gradually transitioning customers to the EST4 platform, which uses a newer tool called SDU4 (similar in concept but adapted for EST4’s Linux-based architecture). EST3 SDU remains supported but receives only critical updates. New installations should consider EST4, while existing EST3 sites continue using SDU.
