This is the big one. Moving to 1.12.2 opens the door for a massive library of plugins that were previously incompatible with 1.8.
One notorious bug in earlier builds was the "world reset" glitch—your hard-built castle would vanish after refreshing the page. The 1202 upd patches the IndexedDB storage logic, making single-player worlds persist reliably.
While full resource packs aren't supported, the 1202 upd allows custom skyboxes and low-resolution texture overrides via a new "assets" folder structure in the offline download.
