Driver Easycap Windows 11 Info

Most EasyCAPs use a chip called STK1160 or SAA7113. Windows 10/11 has generic drivers, but they cause:

Why? The original driver had a "signature" that Microsoft no longer trusts. And the cheap clones? They have mismatched EEPROMs.

Many modern cheap EasyCaps use the Somagic chipset. The native Windows 10/11 driver for this is often buggy. The solution is to use a legacy driver from a trusted source.

For mission-critical applications, replace the EasyCAP with a UVC-compliant analog capture stick (e.g., Startech SVID2USB23, I-O Data GV-USB2). These appear as standard webcams and work out-of-box on Windows 11.

EasyCAP is a family of low-cost USB 2.0 analog video capture devices (composite/S-video to digital). While popular for digitizing VHS, game consoles, and CCTV footage, these devices are not natively supported on Windows 11. Microsoft deprecated the legacy driver model (WDM/KS-based) used by original EasyCAP chipsets (e.g., Empia 286x, 288x, STK1160). However, functional third-party drivers exist, allowing operation on Windows 11 with specific modifications. Without these drivers, the device is either unrecognized or flagged with a Code 28/39 error in Device Manager.

You might be tempted to use the software CD that came in the box. Throw it away. That software (usually "Ulead Video Studio" or "SuperViewer") is outdated, often crashes on Windows 11, and lacks modern features. driver easycap windows 11

If you have found this article, you are likely staring at a USB video capture device labeled "EasyCap," plugging it into your shiny new Windows 11 computer, and seeing absolutely nothing happen. Or worse, you’re seeing a frustrating error message saying the device isn't recognized.

You are not alone. The EasyCap is one of the most popular and affordable video capture sticks on the market, beloved by retro gamers and those digitizing old family VHS tapes. However, because many of these devices were manufactured years ago, getting them to run on a modern operating system like Windows 11 can be a headache.

In this detailed guide, we will walk through everything you need to know about EasyCap drivers for Windows 11. We will cover why it’s difficult, how to identify your specific device, the best driver solutions, and alternative software to get you up and running.

The most reliable solution uses drivers adapted from Linux’s easycap module, compiled with a Windows signature bypass.

Installation Steps:

  • Download the easycapdc60 driver package (v3.0 or newer) from trusted open-source repositories.
  • Install via Device Manager → Update driver → Have disk → Select extracted .inf.
  • Device will appear as “USB Video Device” or “EasyCAP”.
  • Use OBS Studio, VLC, or AmCap to capture via DirectShow.
  • Limitations: Requires reinstallation after major Windows updates; no native 64-bit certification.

Getting an EasyCAP USB video capture device to work on Windows 11 can be tricky because "EasyCAP" is not a single brand; it refers to various generic devices using different chipsets (like UTV007, SMI Grabber, or Syntek). Because these drivers were often designed for Windows 7 or 10, Windows 11 may not recognize them automatically. Installation Steps for Windows 11

Identify the Chipset: Plug in the device and open Device Manager. Look for an "Unknown Device" or "usbtv007." Right-click it, select Properties, and check the Hardware ID under the Details tab to find the specific driver needed.

Download Drivers: Since most modern PCs lack CD drives, you may need to find drivers online from community repositories like Internet Archive or specialized driver sites.

Disable Core Isolation (Crucial): Many older EasyCAP drivers are incompatible with Windows 11's security features. You may need to disable Memory Integrity (Core Isolation) in Windows Security settings for the driver to load properly. Manual Installation: Most EasyCAPs use a chip called STK1160 or SAA7113

Right-click the device in Device Manager and select Update driver.

Choose Browse my computer for drivers and point to the folder where you extracted the downloaded files.

The device should eventually appear as an OEM Device or AV to USB 2.0. Recommended Software

The software bundled with the device is often outdated or buggy. Most users find better results using:

OBS Studio: Highly recommended. Add the device as a Video Capture Device. The most reliable solution uses drivers adapted from

VLC Media Player: Can sometimes recognize the device without a dedicated driver by selecting Open Capture Device under the Media tab. AmCap: A lightweight alternative for testing video signals. Easycap Capture Card Drivers for Windows 10 and 11

    1. Всё получилось. Инструкции в общем в интернете схожие, только лучше уточнить, что устанавливать необходимо сначала именно сериал контроллер. У меня сразу установились дрова на ком-порт, но устройство не работало. Затем всё получилось.
