Terrified that a toxic child is loose, Sulley tries to hide her. He shoves her into a duffel bag and rushes to find Mike, who is on a date with Celia at a sushi restaurant. Chaos ensues, the CDA swarms the restaurant, and Sulley and Mike are branded as outlaws.

The little girl, whom Sulley names "Boo," is not toxic. She is a cheerful toddler who thinks the monsters are funny. She quickly bonds with Sulley, calling him "Kitty." Before sending Boo home, Sulley and Mike confront Mr. Waternoose. They trick him into confessing his plan to the CDA, leading to his arrest. The CDA agent in charge, Roz, reveals she was working undercover to expose the corruption.

It is time for Boo to go home. In a heartbreaking moment, Sulley says goodbye to his little friend. He hugs her, and she gives him a drawing she made of him and Mike. Her door is then shredded by the CDA to prevent her return.

Sulley and Mike discover that Randall is behind the door being left open. They are kidnapped by Randall and his assistant, Fungus. They learn the dark truth: Randall and the company's CEO, Henry J.
