Digimon World Next Order

At its core, Digimon World: Next Order is a "V-Pet" (Virtual Pet) RPG. You play as a human protagonist (either Takuto or Shiki) who gets sucked into the Digital World. Unlike Cyber Sleuth, where Digimon are tools for battle, here your Digimon are needy, living creatures.
You do not directly control your partners in battle. Instead, you give them orders (taunts, defense, all-out attack) and hope they listen. Their loyalty, stats, and even their personality determine their combat effectiveness.
The game’s infamous hook is the Life Cycle. Your Digimon do not live forever. After a few hours of gameplay, they will die, revert to an egg, and be reborn as a Rookie. You keep a percentage of your stats, but the core loop involves repeatedly raising new Digimon, getting stronger each generation, and exploring further into the map.

Next Order is unique in its high difficulty, emphasis on care mechanics, and the emotional weight of losing partners to old age.
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Here is how to avoid resetting the game in frustration.
Goal #1: Ignore the story. Seriously. Do not rush to fight Machinedraymon on Day 3. You will lose. The partners have seven key stats: At its
Goal #2: Focus on the Gym and Toilet. For your first generation (Rookie to Champion), do not explore. Stay in Floatia. Raise your STR and HP to 500 while your Digimon are young. Old Digimon gain stats slower.
Goal #3: The "Bathroom" Rule. Every time you return to town, take your Digimon to the toilet. Even if they don't need to go. Build the habit. One poop on the ground can divert your evolution from Greymon to Sukamon.
Goal #4: Recruit the Palmon first. In the forest, there is a Palmon selling medicine. Recruit her. She unlocks the hospital, which cures status effects and Injury. Injury is a debuff that lowers stats until you rest—if you ignore it, your Digimon gets a "Care Mistake."
Goal #5: Accept death. Your first Digimon will die as an Ultimate (Perfect) level around day 12-15. Do not cry. When they die, you keep roughly 10-20% of their stats. Gen 2 starts stronger. Gen 3 reaches Mega. Would you like a detailed evolution chart for
Digimon World: Next Order is not a game; it is a commitment. It is frustrating, opaque, grindy, and occasionally unfair.

The game takes place in the Digital World after a catastrophic event called the “Gears of Destiny” incident (series continuity is loose). Players assume the role of a human who becomes lost in the Digital World and must raise, train, and fight alongside two partner Digimon to survive, restore balance, and uncover what’s causing new threats. The narrative blends episodic monster encounters and community-driven side stories with longer plot beats involving major Digimon and world-threatening anomalies.
