Diablo 1 Save File Location -

Some guides tell you to run the game as Admin to force saves into the Program Files folder. Do not do this. It leads to permission hell later. Use the VirtualStore location mentioned above, or re-install the game to C:\Games\Diablo instead of C:\Program Files.

Launch the original Diablo 1. Create a new character (name them "TEST"). Quit the game. Now open Windows Search and search for *.sv. Windows will scan every hard drive. Sort by "Date Modified" to find the newly created file instantly.
