Dewa 19 - Pandawa Lima Cd Flac 1997-37
Most casual listeners know the 1997 album Pandawa Lima. It was the bridge album—the one where Dewa started shedding their pure pop-rock skin for something darker, more mystical, and guitar-driven (thank you, Maia Estianty and Andra Ramadhan).
However, the standard retail CD and the 1997-37 pressing are two different beasts.
Is the difference night and day? No. The songwriting is great regardless. But for fans who grew up with a Discman skipping on a school bus, hearing the 1997-37 FLAC is like cleaning a dirty window you didn't know was dirty. The stereo imaging is wider, the vocals (Ari Lasso) are less sibilant, and the low-end is tighter.
Rating: 9/10 (Loses one point because the liner notes font is impossible to read).
Do you own a copy of the original pressing? Let me know the matrix number in the comments below.

If you are downloading a rip labeled "FLAC" (Free Lossless Audio Codec), ensure it meets these standards:
Listening Test: Put on a decent pair of open-back headphones. Listen to the percussion on track 3, "Risalah Hati". On a true 1997-37 FLAC, you should hear the subtle room reverb of the studio (Paradise Studio, Surabaya) before the vocals come in. On compressed versions, that space is flat.
It is crucial to note that Pandawa Lima is still under copyright by Universal Music Indonesia (heirs to Aquarius). While owning a physical CD you ripped yourself is legal home archiving, downloading a pre-made FLAC file from random forums is copyright infringement.
