Technically not a low-graphics mod, but mandatory. Before installing anything else, you need Durante’s legendary DSfix. While it is famous for unlocking 60 FPS and high resolutions, its internal settings allow you to downscale.
Blighttown runs at 15 FPS on a PS3 and 20 FPS on a modest PC. The culprit is the volumetric green fog combined with the draw distance of the wooden scaffolding below.
For players on absolute "potato" hardware, simply toggling settings may not be enough. A subsection of the modding community creates "Low Res Texture Packs." These mods replace the game's high-resolution environment textures with highly compressed, low-resolution versions.
