Abstract This paper examines the historical evolution, business models, and cultural impact of major popular entertainment studios and their productions. Tracing the trajectory from the Hollywood studio system of the early 20th century to the contemporary streaming era, it argues that while distribution technologies and consumption habits have radically changed, the core studio functions of production financing, risk management, and intellectual property (IP) development remain central to global popular culture. Case studies of Walt Disney Studios, Netflix, and independent producer A24 illustrate how different studio models shape the types of stories told and their reception worldwide.
