Bhava Chalit (house-moved) chart is a Vedic astrology house chart adjusted for the exact geographic longitude of the birthplace. It shows which zodiac sign actually occupies each house (bhava) after shifting the whole zodiac to account for the Ascendant's exact degree relative to local horizon — unlike a simple Rasi (sign) chart where planets are placed only by sign and house cusps are not shifted.
Planets near the end of a sign or a house cusp are in a transitional state called Sandhi. A good calculator will highlight if a planet is within 1 degree of a cusp, indicating unstable energy.
In Vedic astrology, most beginners start with the Rashi Chart (also called the Lagna Chart or D1). However, for precise event timing, strength of houses, and life predictions, many astrologers turn to the Bhava Chalit Chart (also known as the Bhava Chart or Cusp Chart).
