Autodesk released official language packs for AutoCAD 2018 for the following languages (list based on Autodesk’s 2018 distribution):
| Language | Locale Code | |-------------------------|--------------| | English (US/GB) | ENU / ENG | | French | FRA | | German | DEU | | Italian | ITA | | Spanish | ESN | | Brazilian Portuguese | PTB | | Japanese | JPN | | Korean | KOR | | Simplified Chinese | CHS | | Traditional Chinese | CHT | | Czech | CSY | | Polish | POL | | Russian | RUS | | Hungarian | HUN |
Note: Not all languages were available for AutoCAD LT 2018. Check Autodesk’s archive.
If you have a valid subscription for AutoCAD 2018 (or a suite that includes it):
Once the language pack is installed on a Multilingual version of AutoCAD 2018, how do you switch back and forth?
Unlike Microsoft Office, AutoCAD 2018 does not have a simple "Language" dropdown in the Options menu. You must use a Desktop Shortcut switch.
Cause: You installed a 32-bit pack on 64-bit AutoCAD (or vice versa). AutoCAD 2018 is almost exclusively 64-bit on Windows, but older downloads may be mislabeled. Solution: Verify your Windows architecture (System > About) and redownload the correct bit-version.
Autodesk Certified Professional exams are offered in multiple languages. If you trained in German but the exam interface is English, a language pack allows you to practice in the exact environment you will test in.
Yes. You can install French, German, and Spanish simultaneously. They will all appear in the "Language" dropdown in the Preferences menu. You can switch between them without reinstalling.
